Sam was invited to lecture at The Royal College of Art (RCA) as part of the Design Products departments series entitled ‘Locating Practice’. In this lecture, Sam reflects on his experience in the design industry and the people, places, materials and processes that have shaped his practice today. From his early background in industrial design and engineering, through his studies at the Royal College of Art and formative years working within a small London workshop, Sam explores how different environments and experiences have influenced the way he approaches design.
